The Story

Château Bonisson is located in the village of Rognes in the South East of France in the heart of the geographical denomination (AOP) "Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence".

It all started in 1791 when the first vine plot was registered on this land. Our family acquired Château Bonisson in 2017 with the objective of revitalizing the estate while respecting and representing our values: quality, authenticity, tradition and sharing.

Respecting the environment is key for us: we have restructured and improved the vineyard keeping nature in mind. We are currently managing the vineyard under the organic guidelines, we respect and follow the moon cycles in every step of the wine making process. We also have horses to plow our land in order to respect our soil and avoid down turn.

On top, we harvest all our grapes by hand hiring experienced grape pickers. All this to nurture our land and get the best grapes to ensure quality wines.

Originally from Burgundy, well-known region for its wine culture and beautiful vineyards, we are passionate about wine-growing, its culture and its complexity. We would like to merge our professional experiences in other areas with our passion to ensure the vineyard is managed with tradition and modernity.

Acquiring a vineyard is for our family a long term dream. We immediately fell in love with the estate and its preserved magical beauty with its bastide of the eighteenth century and its Italian terrace overlooking a vineyard surrounded by woods and a hill populated with hundred-year-old oaks.
