2010 Buoncristiani OPC Red Blend

April 11th, 2015 release $57.95 - WA 92 Points - Check LCBO Store availabilty in your area

The 2010 Proprietary Red O.P.C. (50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Malbec, 20% Syrah and 8% Merlot) possesses a dense ruby/purple color and a sweet nose of vanillin, charcoal, lead pencil shavings, and lots of black currant jam. This fleshy, seductive, round, juicy 2010 is meant to be consumed in its first 5-7 years of life, although it may last even longer. It is realistically priced for a wine of this quality.” 92 POINTS Robert Parker

2012 Reininger Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley

September 13th, 2014 release $20.95 - Check LCBO Store availabilty in your area

John Szabo (Wine Align) 90PTS – From the Pepper Bridge and Seven Hills vineyards, this is a full, dense, savoury and spicy Washington cabernet with firm, hard tannins and plenty of extract – not a wine for fans of fruit, but much more distinctive, “terroir”-dominated profiles. I’d suspect this will be better after another 1-2 years and hold for close to decade, which is rare indeed for a $20 US wine. Best 2015-2022.

This well-structured, fantastic wine features notes of chocolate covered cherry, cinnamon, cedar, pencil shavings, and a dusty element of cocoa powder. Cinnamon, dark chocolate, mixed red berries, and espresso round out the palate with a healthy serving of very fine-grain tannins and balanced acidity. It is luxurious, round and sexy with a finish like a long dark hallway made of dark chocolate… haunting.
